"Shanghai Conservatory of Music Scholarship for International Students" is a special scholarship for international students established by Shanghai Conservatory of Music, aiming at attracting and encouraging outstanding international students to study in Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Guided by the spirit of improving efficiency, focusing on effectiveness, standardized procedures, earmarking funds for specific purposes, and scientific management, this rule carries out the application, evaluation and other work seriously, fairly and impartially, and strives to develop the scale of international students in Shanghai Conservatory of Music and improve the quality of international student education.
Organizational Structure of Scholarships and Grants Evaluation
The university has set up a Scholarship Review Committee composed of the Dean's Office, International Exchange Office, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, all relevant departments, Finance Office and Discipline Supervision and Audit, etc. The Dean in charge of international students' work shall be the director of the Review Committee, and the International Students Office of International Exchange Office shall be in charge of the relevant matters related to the acceptance of the application.
Management of Scholarship Funds
The university has set up a special account for scholarships and grants, which is exclusively used for the purpose, and is managed and used by the International Students Office of the International Exchange Office, and is subject to the guidance, audit and supervision of the university and the higher authorities.
Ratio of Scholarships and Grants
The quotas of various scholarships are determined according to the actual number of students reported each year, and are adjusted appropriately according to the student population each year and evaluated on the basis of merit.
Scholarship categories and standards
1、 Scholarships
(1) Category A Scholarship (full scholarship)
The scholarships are mainly used to support foreign students from the agreed institutions who come to the College for short-term exchange study, or outstanding foreign students from non-agreed institutions who come to the College for short-term study (excluding Chinese language advancement students).Category A scholarship students will be exempted from tuition fees, accommodation fees, comprehensive insurance for study abroad students, and will be provided with a subsidy of 10,000 yuan for living expenses per semester per person.
(2) Category B Scholarships (Partial Scholarships)
It is mainly used to support foreign students from the agreed institutions who come to our institute for short-term exchange study, or outstanding foreign students from non-agreed institutions who come to our institute for short-term study (excluding advanced Chinese language students). b. Scholarship students will be exempted from tuition fees and comprehensive insurance fees for study abroad students in China.
(3) Category C Scholarship
It is mainly used to support long-term foreign students (including undergraduates, masters and doctoral degree holders) who have already studied in our institute and have excellent character and academic performance. each Category C scholarship student will be awarded a one-time award of RMB 4,000 yuan per academic year.
2、Scholarships
Scholarships will be used to support outstanding foreign students (including undergraduates, masters and doctors) who come to study in our university and whose families have special financial difficulties, and in principle, each student can apply for no more than two times during the school period.
Each recipient of the scholarship will receive a study grant of RMB 6,000 yuan per academic year.
V. Assessment Methods of Scholarships
1、Qualifications and Conditions of Application
(1) Citizens with foreign nationality for more than 5 consecutive years and in good health;
(2) Abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the school rules and regulations of the school;
(3) Not receiving any other scholarships from the Chinese government or the Shanghai Municipal Government at the same time.

A/B/C Scholarships
(1) Application Form for Shanghai Conservatory of Music Scholarship for Studying in China
(2) Proof of academic degree or proof of enrollment (non-Chinese or English text must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English)
(3) Transcripts (non-Chinese and English versions must be accompanied by notarized translations in Chinese or English)
(4) Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English)
(5) Study plan in China (written in Chinese or English)
(6) My own works or special academic achievements (thesis, awards, etc.)
(7) Other supplementary materials

4、 Application Notes

VI. Duration, Assessment and Termination of Scholarships
1、Duration
The duration of the scholarship is one semester or one academic year.
2、Assessment
The awarded students are required to participate in the annual assessment of the scholarships according to the regulations during their study period. The evaluation committee will conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on their annual academic performance, learning attitude, examination situation, behavior, rewards and punishments. Only those who pass the evaluation can apply for the scholarship in the next semester, and those who fail to pass the evaluation will be disqualified from applying for the scholarship from the next semester.
3、Termination
Anyone with one of the following circumstances will be canceled or terminated immediately from the awarding of scholarships and grants:
(1) Those who violate Chinese national or local laws and regulations and receive administrative detention and criminal punishment;
(2) Violating school discipline and rules, and receiving disciplinary actions at any level;
(3) Those who are unable to continue their studies due to health reasons.
VII. Bylaws
The International Students Office of Shanghai Conservatory of Music shall be responsible for the interpretation of these assessment rules, which shall be put into practice on a trial basis from the date of promulgation.
