YSU Academic Scholarships for International Students

1. Scholarship content and criteria

In order to attract more outstanding young people from all over the world to study at YSU, YSU has established YSU Scholarships for International Students. The scholarships are intended for international students who come to YSU to study for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The criteria for the scholarships are exemption of tuition and accommodation fees for undergraduates, exemption of tuition and accommodation fees for master's and doctoral degree holders, and provision of a monthly subsistence allowance (10 months per year).

2. Open Majors

Scholarships are available for all majors at YSU.

3. Applicant Eligibility

Non-Chinese citizens, in good health, applicants for doctoral degree must hold a master's degree certificate or have equivalent academic ability, and be no older than 50 years old; applicants for master's degree must hold a bachelor's degree certificate or have equivalent academic ability, and be no older than 40 years old; applicants for bachelor's degree must hold a high school diploma or have equivalent academic ability, and be no older than 30 years old.

January to June 15 every year

5. Application Process

Log on to YSU's online application system for international students (website: https://yzu.17gz.org/member/login.do) to complete the online application and provide relevant materials as required.

6. Required materials for application

(1) Highest academic qualification certificate (if the text is in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be accompanied by a Chinese or English translation issued by an official translation agency).

(2) Academic transcripts of the previous academic degree (if in a language other than Chinese or English, the transcripts must be accompanied by a Chinese or English translation issued by an official translation agency).

(3) Two letters of recommendation from experts or professors in the relevant fields (for master's degree and doctoral degree applicants) (if in a language other than Chinese or English, a Chinese or English translation issued by an authorized translation agency must be attached).

(4) Study plan (for master's and doctoral applicants) (in Chinese or English)

(5) Personal information page of valid passport.

(6) Letter of guarantee.

(7) Accommodation application form.

(8) Insurance application form.

(9) Physical Examination Form for Foreigners (This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department and must be completed in English. The applicant shall strictly follow the items required in the examination form. (The checklist without missing items, without a photo of the applicant affixed to it or without a riding seal on the photo, or without the signature and seal of the physician and the hospital is invalid).

(10) Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 or above score report (if any).
