Tianjin University of Science and Technology Scholarships for Foreign Students

In order to further promote the development of foreign students' education in TJUST, and to promote the cultivation of talents, scientific research, social service and cultural exchanges, TJUST has set up TJUST Scholarships for Foreign Students.

1. Funding category: The scholarship is for foreign students studying in TUST and those who want to study in TUST. The scholarships are mainly for foreign students who are applying to study in Tianjin University of Science and Technology at undergraduate level and above and outstanding students who are studying in Tianjin University of Science and Technology to provide financial support for their tuition fees.

2. Funding period: Undergraduate, Master and PhD students: one academic year. (Tianjin University of Science and Technology Scholarships need to be applied annually, i.e.: applicants who have passed their studies and have good performance in school after enrollment are eligible to enroll for the scholarships in the second academic year at the stage of scholarship enrollment application).

3. Scholarship Category: The scholarship is divided into two categories: full scholarship and half scholarship.

4. Scholarship content and criteria: Full scholarships include tuition and enrollment fees, accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance; half scholarships include tuition and enrollment fees only.

5. Application date: May - June every year

6. Application Requirements.

(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, in good health, without criminal record;

(2) Applicant's education and age requirements;

Applicants for undergraduate programs should have a degree or certificate equivalent to graduation from a Chinese senior high school and be under 25 years old; applicants for master's programs should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, have letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors and be under 35 years old; applicants for doctoral programs should have a master's degree or equivalent, have letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors, and be under 40 years old or below;

(3) Language proficiency requirements of applicants;

The applicant shall have the Chinese language proficiency required for enrollment by the school he/she applies for and provide relevant proofs, such as HSK certificates, other certificates of Chinese language study and examination, and so on. The conditions may be appropriately relaxed for international students in majors directly taught in English.

(4) The applicant has not applied for other forms of scholarships at the same time;

(5) Application requirements for current students

5.1 Self-financed foreign undergraduates, master's degree holders and doctoral degree holders who have been normally enrolled in TJUST and have not applied for a leave of absence, retention or extension of study period in the previous year.

5.2 Applicants must be in good behavior, with no violation of school discipline and rules such as absenteeism on campus, and no violation of Chinese laws and regulations outside the university.

5.3 The applicant must have a positive attitude to study, be diligent and hardworking, and have excellent academic performance in the previous academic year.

5.4 The applicant is not entitled to any other form of scholarship in the current year.

(6) Interview and assessment: After reviewing the paper applications of new and current students, the College will conduct an interview and assessment of the applicants and give the final admission result.

(2) Applicants applying for doctoral and master's degree programs are required to contact the supervisors of the relevant colleges in advance and get the supervisors' agreement to accept the signatures and the recommendation letters from the college leaders agreeing to accept the applications and stamped with the official seals of the colleges.
