Shanghai Sports Institute Presidential Scholarship

1.Scholarship content and criteria

Shanghai Institute of Physical Education (SSPE) has set up a Presidential Scholarship Program since 2018, and proposes to offer 85 scholarships each year to attract international students with excellent language skills and professional background to study Chinese or English-taught programs at our university for undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees. Scholarships are divided into two categories: partial scholarships and full scholarships. Partial scholarships are categorized into A and B. A partial scholarships include tuition and accommodation fees, while B partial scholarships include tuition fees only. Full scholarships include tuition, accommodation, living expenses and insurance.

2.Open majors

All master's and doctoral programs taught in Chinese and English at Shanghai Institute of Physical Education are open for application, and the duration of all programs is three years. The undergraduate program only accepts applicants majoring in Chinese International Education (Chinese for Sports Business).

3.Applicant Qualifications

Non-Chinese citizens, in good health, must have the previous education or degree required by the program they are applying for. Applicants for the undergraduate program should not be older than 25 years old; applicants for the master's program should not be older than 30 years old; applicants for the doctoral program should not be older than 35 years old.

6.Required materials for application

1) Application form for enrollment of foreign students in Shanghai Institute of Physical Education (with photo)

2) Passport copy (valid ordinary passport)

3) Photocopy or notarized copy of master's diploma (pre-graduation certificate for fresh graduates) and degree certificate, and notarized Chinese or English translation for versions other than Chinese and English.

4) A copy or a notarized copy of the master's transcripts, and a notarized Chinese or English translation for both Chinese and English versions.

5) Proof of Chinese or English language proficiency

6) Curriculum Vitae (written in English, which should include personal study and work experience, academic research results, study and research programs, etc.).

7) Recommendation letters (in Chinese or English) from two experts at the level of associate professor or above.

8) Application fee: 500 RMB (cash, postal remittance or bank transfer)

* If necessary, the University will ask the applicant to submit specified supplementary materials.

* Incomplete application materials will not be accepted.

* Regardless of acceptance, the above materials and fees are non-refundable.
