I. Purpose of the scholarship

In order to support the national "One Belt, One Road" strategy, promote the "One Belt, One Road" education initiative of the Ministry of Education, and encourage and attract outstanding international students from the countries along the "One Belt, One Road", the university has set up a special "Silk Road" Principal's Scholarship for international students in China. Principles of Scholarship Assessment and Management

The "Silk Road" Presidential Scholarship is evaluated in accordance with the principles of "fairness, impartiality and openness", and managed in accordance with the principles of safety, law-abidingness, high efficiency, and earmarking of funds.

Qualifications of Applicants

(1) Non-Chinese citizens, outstanding students from countries along the "Belt and Road". The countries along the Belt and Road should refer to the list of countries applicable to the "Silk Road" Scholarship.

(ii) Love China and be in good health.

(C) International students applying for master's degree in our university.

(D) Outstanding international students who have graduated from undergraduate programs with good academic performance (average score of 85 or above or GPA of 3.0 or above), Chinese language proficiency at HSK level 5, and certain scientific research ability for those who are pursuing a master's degree.

(e) Not receiving other scholarships at the same time.

Scholarship Quota and Funding Criteria

(a) Two persons shall be selected each year.

(ii) Financial support standard: tuition and accommodation fees are exempted, and living expenses are provided (Master's degree: 1300 RMB/month).

V. Duration of Scholarship

Funding for 3 years.

VI. Scholarship application materials

(Application Form for Changchun University Silk Road Scholarship for International Students.

(ii) Proof of graduation from undergraduate program. If the applicant is a student, he/she must provide a certificate of enrollment and a certificate of timely graduation issued by the school he/she is attending. Texts in languages other than Chinese and English must be accompanied by notarized translations into Chinese or English.

(Transcripts of all undergraduate courses. Notarized translations of the transcripts in Chinese or English must be attached to the transcripts in languages other than Chinese and English.

(d) Study and research program in China.

(e) Two letters of recommendation from the supervisors of the undergraduate institution, written in Chinese or English.

(vi) HSK Level 5 transcript.

(vii) Health certificate and certificate of no criminal offense.

(viii) Photocopy of the first page of passport.

VII. Scholarship Application Method

(1) Applicants shall download the "Application Form for Changchun University Silk Road Presidential Scholarship for International Students", fill in the form and send it together with other application materials to the College of International Education of Changchun University, which will organize the evaluation together with the faculties and departments of the declared majors.

(b) If the applicant's conditions or application materials do not meet the regulations and requirements, the application will be regarded as invalid and will not be accepted. All application materials will not be returned.

VIII. Scholarship Application Time

Application from June 1 to July 31 each year.

IX. Scholarship Management

(1) International students enjoying the "Silk Road" Presidential Scholarship must sign in at the College of International Education from the 15th to the 20th of each month. If you fail to sign in on time, the scholarship will be suspended for that month without reimbursement. Scholarship will be suspended and not reimbursed during the period of leave of absence exceeding 15 days or suspension of study. Students who fail to sign in at the College of International Education for three consecutive months without leave will be disqualified for the scholarship.

(2) International students enjoying the "Silk Road" Presidential Scholarship are required to participate in the annual evaluation of the College of International Education every year. Those who pass the evaluation will continue to enjoy the scholarship in the following year, while those who fail to pass the evaluation will be disqualified from the scholarship. The evaluation is held in May every year. Those who have any of the following conditions will not be allowed to participate in the evaluation and will be disqualified from the scholarship:

1.Violating school rules and Chinese laws during the scholarship period;

2.Scholarship students who do not come to school for registration on time without leave of absence, leave school for non-healthy reasons, or miss classes for more than one month;

3.Those who fail 20% of the exams and examinations in each academic year course;

4.International students who have met the conditions for repeating a course.

(c) The scholarship will not be extended if the Silk Road Scholarship recipients are unable to complete their studies on time due to personal reasons.

(d) Scholarship recipients who interrupt their studies after receiving the scholarship for personal reasons will be regarded as automatically giving up their scholarship status.

X. Other

These Regulations shall come into force from May 25, 2017 onwards.
