Program Description: In order to meet the growing demand for Chinese language educators in the international community, to promote the development of Chinese language education in countries around the world, and to facilitate the growth of international Chinese language educators, the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China (hereinafter referred to as the Center) establishes the Scholarships for International Chinese Language Teachers (hereinafter referred to as the Scholarships). Designated recommending organizations can recommend outstanding students and in-service Chinese teachers to study Chinese at Peking University. Eligibility: 1. non-Chinese nationals; 2. physically and mentally healthy, with good character and academic performance; 3. interested in Chinese language education, teaching and related work; 4. in principle, between the ages of 18 and 35; 5. duration of study and the direction of study as stated in the scholarship system （For those who apply for the direction of Chinese Language and Literature in the scholarship system, the score of HSK (Level 4) is 180 and HSKK (Intermediate) is 60; for those who apply for the direction of Chinese Language and Literature in the scholarship system, the score of Chinese Language and Literature in the scholarship system is HSK (Level 3) is 210, and those who provide the score of HSKK are preferred; * For one-year trainee applicants, according to the academic qualifications, they can apply for the following programs in Peking University To apply for the preparatory program, please refer to the following link: https://www.isd.pku.edu.cn/preppie/news/detail/230.html One-semester trainees (applicants without experience of studying in China): Chinese language examination score of 180 points in HSK (Level 3), with HSKK score. Note: * Regardless of the direction in the scholarship system, the scholarship students will be admitted to the School of Chinese Language Education as general advanced students/pre-medical students at Peking University. Financial support: 1. tuition fee exemption; 2. double room accommodation in the international student dormitory of Peking University Zhongguansinyuan; 3. living expenses; 4. comprehensive medical insurance for international students coming to China. Step 1: Apply online 1. Log in to Peking University Online Application System for International Students (www.studyatpku.com), register for a personal account, fill in the application information and confirm the submission, and print the Application Form for Admission of International Students (General Candidates); the application path is as follows: Application - Non-degree - International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarships for General Candidates or use the following search code: ICLTS GTS. Code search: ICLTS-GVS 2. Log in to the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship application website (cis.chinese.cn) to register your personal account, fill in the application information and submit and print the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Application Form. Step 2. Submit the application materials by post through China Post (EMS). 1. "Application Form for Admission of Foreign Students", please print the application form after successful online application and affix the photo and signature; 2. "Application Form for International Chinese Language Teachers' Scholarship", please print the application form after successful online application; 3. Certificate of Highest Academic Qualification/Certificate of School Attendance, which must be in Chinese or English in the original form or the translated notarized document; 4. Transcripts, either in Chinese or English, or notarized translations; 5. Written recommendations from two associate professors (or equivalent), either in Chinese or English; Note: One of the letters of recommendation can be from the head of the recommending organization. 6. Copy of HSK transcripts; 7. Copy of HSKK transcripts (those who have applied for the direction of Chinese language training in the Scholarship System are not required to submit this document); 8. Passport Photocopy of passport, which must be an ordinary passport within the validity period; 9. For the applicants who are under 18 years old, the applicants must submit the proxy document signed by their legal guardians in China. Note: Incomplete application materials will not be accepted. Admission Method: We will review the application materials on the basis of merit, and select and admit students based on the results of the review, which will be notified by email in June/July.
