Chongqing Normal University Mayor's Scholarship for Foreign Students of Chongqing Municipal People's Government

In order to attract outstanding foreign students to study in Chongqing and expand the international influence of Chongqing universities, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government has established the "Mayor's Scholarship for Foreign Students of Chongqing Municipal People's Government".

Application Targets

1. Non-Chinese citizens who intend to come to Chongqing Normal University to study for master's and bachelor's degrees.

2. Non-Chinese outstanding academic students (including master's degree and bachelor's degree) who have already studied at Chongqing Normal University for one semester or more and will continue to study for one year or more.

Application Requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Applicants for master's degree should have a bachelor's degree, excellent academic performance and be under 35 years old.

3. Applicants pursuing bachelor's degree should have an education equivalent to graduation from Chinese high school and be under 25 years old.

4. Those who have already received various kinds of Chinese government scholarships cannot apply for the Mayor's Scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria

1.RMB 30,000 per student per year for master's degree students;

2.RMB 25,000 per student per year for undergraduate students;

The duration of the Mayor's Scholarship cannot exceed the normal duration of the academic program for the corresponding degree being pursued.

Application Materials

Applicants must truthfully complete and submit the following application materials (all in duplicate)

1. Application Form for Mayor's Scholarship for Foreign Students of Chongqing Municipal People's Government (Attachment 1).

2. Notarized certificate of highest academic qualification. If the applicant is a student of Chongqing Normal University, he/she should submit a certificate of enrollment and a transcript issued by the school he/she is attending. A notarized translation of the documents into Chinese or English must be attached to the documents in languages other than Chinese and English.

3. Notarized transcripts of the highest educational level. A notarized Chinese or English translation of the transcripts must be attached to both the English and Chinese versions.

4. Study and research program in China, written in Chinese or English.

5. Two letters of recommendation. Applicants pursuing master's degree should provide recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors in their home countries, written in Chinese or English. International students enrolled in Chongqing Normal University are required to provide letters of recommendation from the international students' administration or teachers of the courses.

6. Students applying for music majors are required to submit CDs of their own works; students applying for art majors are required to provide CDs of their own works (2 drawings, 2 color paintings, 2 other works);

7、Copy of Foreigner's Physical Examination Record (not required for international students studying in Chongqing Normal University) (Attachment 2)

8、Copy of passport.

9. Certificate of no criminal record.

10、Bank certificate of deposit (certificate of deposit in local currency in the amount of not less than 25,000 RMB)
