1.Scholarship content and criteria
"Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarships for Foreign Students" are full scholarships. The student category is doctoral students, the period of study is 4 years, and the scholarship is funded for 4 years. Scholarships include registration fee and tuition fee,
Laboratory fee, internship fee, basic textbook fee, on-campus accommodation fee, comprehensive insurance, basic living expenses, tutor's allowance, etc. Students are responsible for their own international travel expenses. 3.Qualifications of applicants
(1) Citizens with foreign nationality and in good health;
(2) Abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the university;
(3) Have a master's degree recognized by the Ministry of Education of China, and be no older than 40 years old;
(4) Applicants must have graduated from a world-renowned university or a university with which Dalian Maritime University has a cooperative program and have excellent academic performance, and need to have the recommendation of two professors;
(5) The applicant's major must be in the same discipline as his/her highest academic major;
(6) The applicant must not have received any other scholarships from the Chinese government at the same time.
4.Application Date
The application deadline is April 30th.
5.Application Process / Pathway
(1) Applicants must send the scholarship application materials to the International Student Education Center of Dalian Maritime University before April 30th. The International Student Education Center will determine the qualifications and application materials of the applicants and then send the qualified applicants' materials to the relevant faculties and departments.
(2) Dalian Maritime University will conduct the final evaluation with relevant experts. The result of the evaluation will be announced on the website of Dalian Maritime University in the middle and end of May.
(3) Dalian Maritime University will report the result to Liaoning Provincial Department of Education for record after the evaluation. The nominated candidates will be eligible to receive the Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship to study in China after the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education passes the examination and approval.
(4) Dalian Maritime University will send the letter of admission and visa application form (JW202) and other admission materials to the applicants before July 31st.
6.Required Documents for Application
Applicants must truthfully fill in and submit the following application materials (the application materials must be in paper form, in triplicate)
(1) Application Form for Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship for Foreign Students (uniformly printed by the Provincial Department of Education);
(2) Notarized certificate of highest academic qualification: applicants must provide notarized master's and bachelor's degree certificates; certificates not in Chinese or English must also be accompanied by notarized translations in Chinese or English. All notarized certificates must be provided in original.
Note: ① If the applicant is a recent graduate, please submit a certificate of enrollment issued by the school you are attending (must indicate the expected time of graduation and obtaining the diploma).
② If the applicant is a working person, in addition to submitting the relevant academic qualifications, the applicant must also submit a certificate of employment issued by the employing organization, both of which must be originals.
(3) Academic transcripts: Applicants must provide original notarized transcripts of all master's and undergraduate studies. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized translations in Chinese or English. All notarized documents must be provided in original.
(4) HSK certificate: If applicants apply for the Chinese language program, they need to provide a certificate of Level 5 or above; those who don't have the corresponding HSK certificate need to take the Chinese Proficiency Test of the University, and their scores are equivalent to Level 5 or above before they can be admitted to the doctoral program of the University.
(5) Photocopy of "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" (Photocopies should be attached with photos, and the original should be kept by yourself. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health quarantine department and can be downloaded from the website of Scholarship Council.
(http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/或http://www.campuschina.org). Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the Physical Examination Form for Foreigners. The Foreigner's Physical Examination Form with missing items, without the photo of the applicant affixed to it or without the riding seal on the photo, or without the signature and seal of the physician and the hospital is invalid. Since the results of the examination are valid for six months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly.
(6) Study and Research Program in China: The study program should be written in Chinese with no less than 3,000 words and in English with no less than 2,500 words. The content should include academic background and work experience, academic research results, proposed research plan, and personal development goals after graduation.
(7) Letters of recommendation: Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors. Certificates not in Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized translations in Chinese or English. All notarized certificates must be provided in original.
(8) Copy of valid passport: Please provide a copy of the complete personal information page.
(9) If there are any other documents such as published papers, award certificates, etc. that can prove your academic achievement and research ability, please provide the title, abstract, publication and supporting documents;
The above application materials will be accepted by each higher education institution and sent to the Provincial Department of Education together with the report for approval, and the Provincial Department of Education will not accept applications from individuals. Regardless of acceptance or non-acceptance, the applicant's application materials will not be returned.
