Scholarship Details
Program Description:
The International Chinese Language Teachers' Scholarships for Professional Development Program, funded for one academic year, is open to outstanding individuals who are interested in Chinese language education, teaching and related work.
Enrollment Specialization Direction:
Chinese History, Chinese Philosophy, etc.
Application Requirements:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, in good health, of good character and good academic standing
2. Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school.
3. Be interested in Chinese education, teaching and related work.
4. Age 16-35 years old (based on September 1, 2025), or 45 years old for in-service Chinese teachers.
Language Requirements:
- Chinese HSK score should be at least 180 points in Level 4 and HSKK score
- For Chinese History and Chinese Philosophy, the Chinese test score should reach 180 points in HSK (Level 5) and have HSKK score
- Those who have won the "International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions will complete the admission procedures of the relevant receiving institutions with the scholarship certificate.
Scholarship content:
- Free tuition
- Accommodation at the school
- Provide living expenses in China (￥2500/month)
- Provide comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China at the rate of ￥800/person/year
Application Deadline:
- September admission: May 15
- Entry in March of the following year: October 31st
Application Process:
Step 1: Online Application
1、Visit the online application system of the International Education Center of East China Normal University http://lxsapply.ecnu.edu.cn/ to submit the application and pay the application fee of 800 RMB.
2、Visit the website of International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship http://cis.chinese.cn to complete the registration and download the application form.
Step 2: Review
The university will conduct preliminary examination of the applicants' qualifications according to the enrollment requirements. For those who pass the preliminary examination, ICCT will organize a video interview. The result of the scholarship evaluation shall further wait for the notification from the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation.
Step 3: Admission and Enrollment
Students who are officially admitted must log on the designated website to download the electronic version of the Admission Notice and the Confirmation Form for Foreign Students Coming to China (JW202) by themselves.

2. Scanned copy of passport photo page
3. Scanned copy of HSK, HSKK score report (valid for 2 years)
4. Letter of recommendation issued by the head of the recommending organization
5. Proof of highest academic qualification (certificate of expected graduation) and transcripts of school study
6. Personal statement of the applicant
7. Copy of Foreigner's Physical Examination Record
8. Certificate of no criminal record
9. Application Fee
