Scholarship Details
Program Description:
The International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Language Enhancement Program, a one-year Chinese language enhancement program, is open to outstanding individuals interested in Chinese language education, teaching and related work.
Application Requirements:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy, with good character and academic performance.
2. Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school.
3. Aspire to engage in Chinese education, teaching and related work
4. Applicants who have received similar scholarships within three years will not be accepted.
5. Be between 16 and 35 years old (based on September 1, 2025), or 45 years old for in-service Chinese language teachers.
Language Requirement:
- HSK score of Level 3 210 or above, HSKK score is preferred.
- Those who have won the "International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions should visit the website of the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship and submit the application materials to the target receiving institutions with the scholarship certificate.
Scholarship content:
- Free tuition
- Provide school accommodation
- Provide living expenses in China (￥2500/month)
- Provide comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China at the rate of ￥800/person/year

September admission: application deadline is May 15
Application Process:
Step 1: Online Application
1、Visit the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship website http://cis.chinese.cn to complete registration and download the application form before February 20-May 15
2、Visit the online application system of the Center for International Education of East China Normal University at http://lxsapply.ecnu.edu.cn/ to submit the application and pay the application fee of 800 RMB.
3、Contact the recommending organization for online recommendation
Step 2: Review
The school will review the applicants according to the admission requirements, make a comprehensive evaluation, and pre-admit the applicants on the basis of merit. The result of the scholarship evaluation shall wait for further notification from the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation.
Step 3: Admission and Enrollment
Students who have been officially admitted must visit the designated website to download the electronic version of the Admission Notice and the Confirmation Form for Foreign Students Coming to China (JW202) by themselves.

2. Scanned copy of passport photo page
3. Scanned copy of HSK and HSKK score report (valid for 2 years)
4. Letter of recommendation issued by the head of the recommending organization
5. Certificate of highest education (certificate of expected graduation) and school transcripts
6. Applicant's personal statement (background of Chinese language learning, plans and goals for studying in China, etc.)
7. Copy of Foreigner's Physical Examination Record
8. Certificate of no criminal record
