Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship for Kunming Medical University

The Yunnan Provincial Government has established this scholarship program to support students from neighboring countries to study and engage in research activities in higher education institutions in Yunnan Province, including academic and non-academic education, with doctoral (3 years), master's (2-3 years), and bachelor's (4-5 years) for academic education, and Chinese language advancement students, professional advancement students and research scholars for non-academic education (1-2 years). Students from Southeast and South Asian countries (including Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Brunei Darussalam, etc.) are eligible to apply for study at Kunming Medical University.

Scholarship Content

Registration fee, tuition fee, accommodation fee, living expenses, etc;

Scholarship living expenses are granted on a monthly basis in (RMB/month):

- Undergraduates and advanced Chinese language students: 1400 RMB;

- Master's degree students, professional training students: 1700 RMB;

- Doctoral students and research scholars: 2,000 RMB.

Publicly-funded medical services are provided on the same basis as for Chinese students.



Applicant Qualifications

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health;

Applicant's education and age requirements:

- Those pursuing a bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma with good grades and be no older than 25 years old;

- For Master's Degree, a Bachelor's Degree and not more than 35 years old;

- To study for a doctoral degree, a person must have a master's degree and be no older than 40 years old;

- For advanced Chinese language students, they must have no basic Chinese language, have a high school diploma and be no older than 35 years old;

- For professional trainees, they must be in their second year of university or above or have a bachelor's degree, and their age should not exceed 45 years old;

- Research scholars must have a master's degree or above and be no older than 50 years old.



Application materials available

Applicants must truthfully complete and submit the following application materials:

The original and one copy of the "Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship Application Form" in Chinese or English;

- The Application Form can be downloaded from the website of the School of International Education, Kunming Medical University.

Notarized certificate of highest academic qualification and academic transcripts; if the applicant is a current student or is already employed, an additional certificate of enrollment or proof of employment issued by the school or organization where the applicant is enrolled is required.



Photocopy of "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" (Keep the original by yourself.) (This form can be downloaded from the website of Scholarship Council).



Academic transcripts. A notarized translation into Chinese or English is required for texts other than Chinese and English.



Study and Research Program in China (not less than 300 words), written in Chinese or English.



Copy of HSK transcript.



Applicants for Master's Degree, Doctoral Degree or Research Scholarship are required to produce recommendations and acceptance letters from two professors or associate professors.

Applicants for Research Scholarships are required to submit a catalog of their major published works or papers.
