Northeast Forestry University Presidential Scholarship for Outstanding Foreign Students

I. Scholarship content and criteria

In order to implement the spirit of the National Conference on Management of Overseas Chinese Students, further promote the development of foreign students' education in the university, and in accordance with the requirements of the National Quality Certification Indicator System for Overseas Chinese Students, the university has decided to set up the "President's Scholarship for Outstanding Foreign Students of Northeast Forestry University", which is used to encourage and support more outstanding foreign students to come to the university to study. The scholarship is intended to encourage and support more outstanding foreign students to study at the university, and to continuously improve the university's international atmosphere and international influence. The evaluation of the scholarship is based on the principles of "fairness, impartiality, openness, and meritocracy".

The total amount of scholarships is 300,000 RMB per year, and the scholarships are awarded once a year with differential selection.

1. There are three types of scholarships: scholarships for international undergraduates, scholarships for international master's degree students and scholarships for international doctoral degree students. The scholarships are granted within 30% of the number of self-financed international students in the university.

The criteria for the three categories of scholarships are as follows.

First-class scholarships: 20,000 yuan/academic year-person for undergraduates; 28,000 yuan/academic year-person for master's degree students; 36,000 yuan/academic year-person for doctoral degree students.

Second-class scholarships: 15,000 yuan/academic year-person for undergraduates; 23,000 yuan/academic year-person for master's degree students; 31,000 yuan/academic year-person for doctoral degree students.

Third Class Scholarship: Undergraduate students RMB 0.8 million/academic year-per-person; Master's degree students RMB 11,000/academic year-per-person; Doctoral degree students RMB 16,000/academic year-per-person.

The duration of the scholarship is one year.

3、Qualifications of Applicants

Scholarships are available to outstanding self-financed international students who are friendly to China, have good character and academic excellence, and are physically and mentally healthy, who are applying for or have already pursued their degrees at the University.

Applicants must have foreign nationality and hold a valid foreign passport. Applicants who are already studying in our university rank top in academic performance and comprehensive assessment (top 30% in their discipline or specialty), have good performance, and have not violated Chinese laws and regulations and university rules and regulations.

The applicant has not received any scholarship support from the Chinese government or other countries and organizations.

4、Application Date

Scholarship applications are accepted from March 1 to June 30 every year.

5、Application Procedure/Route

Scholarship applicants should submit a written scholarship application to the University in accordance with these regulations, with two copies of the application materials (in Chinese or English).

6、Materials required for application

(i) Materials to be submitted by freshmen scholarship applicants:

(1) Application Form for Presidential Scholarship for Foreign Students of Northeast Forestry University

(2) New students applying for studying at the university should download the Application Form for Northeast Forestry University Presidential Scholarship for Outstanding Foreign Students from the website of the College of International Exchange, fill in the form, and submit it together with the application materials to the Office of International Student Work of Northeast Forestry University.

(3) Proof of highest academic degree. Non-Chinese and English texts must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.

(4) Notarized original and photocopy of transcripts.

(5) Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors of the graduating institution, written in Chinese or English.

(6) Study plan in China.

(7) A copy of the valid page of passport.

(8) Published scientific research papers, awards and relevant supporting materials.

(9) Certificates of English IELTS, TOEFL or HSK scores for the last two years.

(2) Documents to be submitted by scholarship applicants who are already studying in our university:

1) Application Form for Presidential Scholarship for Foreign Students of Northeast Forestry University

2) Applicants who are already studying in the university may submit the completed Application Form for the Presidential Scholarship for Outstanding Foreign Students of Northeast Forestry University to their faculties (departments), and then submit it to the Office of International Students of the university after examination and approval by their faculties (departments).

3) Transcripts issued by the Academic Affairs Office or Graduate School.

4) Letter of recommendation from the faculty or tutor.

5) A letter of self-recommendation from the student (about 500 words/phrases).

6) Research papers, awards and relevant supporting materials published during the period of study.
