China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Silk Road Elite Scholarships

China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) has set up the "Belt and Road" Scholarship for Graduate Students, which is used to award international students who have outstanding achievements in social activities and scientific and technological achievements to pursue self-funded doctoral studies at the University. The scholarship is applicable to self-funded international students who come to the university to study for master's and doctoral degrees.

Program Introduction

International students from countries along the Belt and Road, with excellent academic backgrounds and good language skills can apply for this scholarship. The scholarships are partial scholarships, and the amount of the scholarship is exempted from tuition or accommodation fees for the first year of study.

Application Requirements

1.Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports, in good health, no older than 35 years old for Master's Degree and 40 years old for Doctoral Degree, and hold the highest academic qualification required;

2.Outstanding international students who have a positive attitude to study, have good grades, and have been accepted by the tutors of the relevant faculties of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) or are on the list of recommended acceptance;

3.One year of Chinese language study at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), with Chinese language proficiency at HSK level 4 or above; or TOEFL or IELTS score is preferred.

4.Not receiving other scholarships at the same time.

Application Procedure and Time

Application deadline: June 10, 2016

1.Online application: register on the online application platform for international student admission of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (http://admission.cug.edu.cn/), fill in your personal information, upload the scanned copy of the front page of your passport, high school diploma, high school transcripts, study plan for coming to China, and proof of financial guarantee.

2.Submission of materials: After completing the online registration and preparation of materials, send the application materials together to the Admission Office of College of International Education, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). No matter whether the applicant is accepted or not, the materials submitted by the applicant will not be returned.

3. A Letter of Acceptance and Application for Visa to China for Foreign Students (Form JW202) will be issued to the accepted applicants by the end of June. To facilitate the delivery of the acceptance letter and visa documents, please be sure to reserve the correct mailing address information.

List of application materials

1.Application Form for Admission of Foreign Students to China University of Geosciences (to be filled in by university scholarship or self-financed students), the application form should be filled in Chinese or English;

2.Notarized master's and bachelor's degree certificates (if the original text is in another language, a notarized translation is required)

3.Transcripts of master's and undergraduate studies (if the original text is in another language, a notarized translation is required)

4.Study and research plan for China (in Chinese or English, no less than 1000 words), taking into account the foundation of the previous study.

5.Recommendation letters signed by two professors (in Chinese or English), one of which must be from the university issuing the diploma

6.A copy of the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form valid for half a year (keep the original on your own)

7.Copy of personal information page of valid passport

8.Copy of passport and proof of employment or income of the financial sponsor of the "Financial Guarantee for International Students".

9.HSK level certificate or TOFEL/IELTS English language proficiency certificate (excellent language proficiency is preferred)

10.Other attachments (e.g. tutor's acceptance form, award certificates, published papers and monographs, etc.)
