"Application Guidelines for Chinese Language Scholarship for Trade Union Cadres from Countries Along the Belt and Road
Scholarship Details
I. Introduction to Scholarships
In order to develop friendly relations between Chinese trade unions and trade union organizations of other countries, enhance the friendship between the Chinese working class and the working classes of other countries, and contribute to world peace, development, cooperation, workers' rights and interests and social progress, the Chinese Language Scholarship for Trade Union Cadres from Countries Along the Belt and Road (hereinafter referred to as "the Scholarship") has been established.
The Scholarship Program is mainly for trade union cadres from countries along the "Belt and Road" and fully subsidizes the scholarship recipients to come to China for one academic year for Chinese language training, including tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses, comprehensive insurance and one-time round-trip international travel expenses. The program is funded by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
Funding category: excellent trade union cadres with certain working experience from trade unions in countries along the "Belt and Road" to study Chinese language in China.

Economy Class (One-time)
● Living Expenses: During the period of scholarship funding, living expenses are paid to students by the school on a monthly basis. If a scholarship student registers at the school before the 15th day of the month (including the 15th day), he/she will be given a full month's living expenses; if he/she registers after the 15th day, he/she will be given half a month's living expenses; for graduates, the living expenses will be given until half a month after the date of graduation as determined by the school; if a scholarship student is away from China for more than 15 days during the period of the scholarship (excluding the normal vacation) due to personal reasons, his/her living expenses during the period of his/her absence from China will cease to be payable.
●Tuition fee: Tuition fee is used by the school for the training, management and organization of activities of the scholarship students.
● Accommodation Fee: The accommodation fee is co-ordinated by the university and the university provides free dormitory on campus.
●Comprehensive medical insurance: purchased and paid for by the Scholarship Council of China (for the content of the insurance and claim procedures, please visit http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org查阅 "Introduction to Comprehensive Medical Insurance for International Students and Claims Guidelines"). ●One-time round-trip international travel expenses: used by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) for purchasing international air tickets (economy class) from the home country to the city of the school for the first time when the scholarship students come to China and return to their home countries upon completion of their studies.
Application Requirements:
1. Non-Chinese citizens, preferably from countries along the 'Belt and Road'.
2. Physically and mentally healthy.
3. Must have a high school diploma or above and be no more than 45 years old.
4. Must have some experience in trade union work; experience in exchange work with China is preferred.
5. Must not have received other scholarships from the Chinese government at the same time.
Second List of Application Materials
1.Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form (Chinese or English);
2.Notarized certificate of highest academic qualification. Texts in languages other than English or Chinese must be accompanied by notarized translations into Chinese or English;
3.Academic transcripts. Notarized translations in Chinese or English must be attached to documents in languages other than English or Chinese;
4.Study or research program in China (not less than 500 words in Chinese or English);
5.Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents from their legal guardians in China;
6.Applicants who come to China to study for more than 6 months shall submit a scanned copy of the Physical Examination Form for Foreigners (keep the original on your own, this form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department, a template is attached, and must be filled out in English). The applicant shall strictly follow the items required in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The Foreigner's Physical Examination Form with missing items, without a photo of the applicant or without a riding seal on the photo, and without the signature and seal of the physician and the hospital is invalid. Since the results of the examination are valid for six months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly;
7.Personal resume (personal background information and post-high school study and work experience) (uploaded in the system under "Other Supporting Documents").
Note: Applicants are required to provide true and valid corresponding documents in accordance with the above list and upload clear scanned copies in the online application system. Application materials not meeting the above requirements will affect the applicant's admission results.
Third Application Process
Step 1: Applicants should prepare the corresponding documents according to the requirements of the list of application materials.
Step 2: Visit the website of "Study in China" and click on the icon of "Management Information System for Chinese Government Scholarships for Studying in China" to enter the application system.

Step 3: The type of study abroad program and the number of the accepting organization are required fields in the "Chinese Government Scholarships for Studying in China Management Information System". Please select "Class A" as the type of study abroad program, and the accepting organization number is "00009".
After the applicant fills in the form, the system will automatically display the name of the accepting department represented by the organization number. There is a correspondence between the type of study abroad program and the accepting organization number. If you make a mistake, the scholarship accepting department will not receive the online application information.
Step 4: Complete the entry of all application information and upload supplementary materials according to the list on the left side of the page one by one, please make sure that the information and materials are correct, true and valid.
When filling out the "Language Proficiency and Study Plan", please select from the following categories:
Application Category: Universal Admission, Language of Instruction: Chinese, Discipline of Application: Literature
Major: Chinese Language, Institution I: Beijing Language and Culture University (please select "None" for Institutions II and III as this program is a centralized study program).
Application Period: September 1 of the current year to July 15 of the following year.
Step 5: Please check all information and supplementary materials carefully before submitting your application.
Step 6: Before the application is accepted, the applicant can amend the submitted application by clicking "Withdraw and Amend Application". After the application has been withdrawn, the applicant must submit it again after editing, otherwise the application will not be accepted.
Step 7: Applicants are advised to download the application form by clicking on "Print Application".
Note: It is recommended to use Firefox or IE 11 browser. If you are using IE browser, please remove the "Compatibility View Mode" of the browser and use it.
Applicants are required to complete all application information in Chinese or English.
In order to ensure that the admission materials can be accurately mailed to the candidates on time, applicants are requested to make sure that the "Current Contact Information" in the "Chinese Government Scholarships for Studying in China Management Information System" is accurate, detailed and valid.
Information for Coming to China
Visa
Candidates who have been awarded scholarships must apply for visas to study in China at the Chinese Embassy (Consulate General) or other Chinese visa authorities abroad with the original and photocopies of the Letter of Acceptance, the Application for Visa to China for Overseas Study (JW201) and the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form, as well as their own passports (including the "X1" visa for those who have studied for more than six months and the "X2" visa for those who have studied for less than six months). For those who come to China to study for more than six months, they should apply for "X1" visa; for those who come to China to study for less than six months, they can apply for "X2" visa). Those who come to China with other kinds of passports or visas or without the originals of the above documents will not be enrolled in the school and will not be allowed to apply for residence in China.
All the expenses incurred in the visa procedure will be paid by the students themselves.
Registration, Health Certification and Residence Permit
1.Check-in and Registration
Scholarship recipients must present the original copy of the Admission Notice, the Application for Visa to China for Foreign Students (Form JW201) and the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form and report to the designated school for registration according to the enrollment date specified in the Admission Notice. Those who are unable to report to school on the scheduled date for any reason should apply directly to the school concerned for leave of absence. Those who do not report to the school on time without the approval of the school will be treated as having automatically given up their academic status, and their eligibility for scholarships will be automatically canceled.
2.Health certificate and residence permit
Health certification: Scholarship students who come to China to study for more than six months must go to the health quarantine department in the place where the school is located to apply for health certification with the originals of their passports, Admission Notice, Foreigner's Physical Examination Form, and blood test slips after their arrival in China. Those who do not pass the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form will be required to undergo a new physical examination. Those who refuse to undergo the medical examination or are found to be suffering from diseases that are prohibited from entering China under Chinese law after the medical examination will be given a deadline to leave the country and return home.
Residence Permit: After arriving in China, the scholarship students must go to the public security department of the school location to apply for the residence permit within the time limit of the visa authority with their passports, the Admission Notice, the Application Form for Visa for Foreigner Scholarly Exchange to China (Form JW201), a valid health certificate and a photo in conformity with the regulations.
